Who We Are

Art4Rights is a woman and youth-led organization founded in 2018 and officially registered in 2020 as a Community Based Organization. Art4Rights is committed to promoting Gender Equality, Peace and Security, Youth and women empowerment, Human Rights, and cultural identity.
Art4Rights is interested in the advancement and safeguarding of Human Rights in Kenya primarily because of the intersectionality of Human Rights and sustainable development, and good governance. We firmly believe that respect for Human Rights and the application of a Human Rights-based approach in development lays a foundation for the realization of peace, safety, and security.
For this to be realized, Art4Rights partners primarily with youth and artists to advocate for the advancement of Human Rights while at the same time mobilizing support in checking state excesses and holding the government to account for violations of human rights. Art4Rights uses artistic expression (spoken word, music, plays, and graffiti) as a method of rights awareness and mobilization of communities around Human Rights issues.
